BiBiNet: Big Biocancer Network

Consulting for the BiBiNet – Big Biocancer Network Project. POR FESR Lazio 2014-2020: Analysis of biological networks for marker identification and active molecule repositioning, 01/23-04/23

Identifying the factors that determine the heterogeneity and interpersonal variability of cancers allows the identification of biomarkers, the definition of possible therapeutic targets, and the development of treatments using repositionable drugs. Cancer research is based on high-throughput analyses, such as arrays and sequencing, innovative molecular biology techniques, and microscopic and macroscopic biomedical imaging. Although data on tens of thousands of patients are freely available, there is a lack of a holistic view of the molecular interaction mechanisms between metabolic and functional pathways, cell signaling, and potential therapies.
BiBiNet aims to develop a computational model for the integration of data and information on coding and non-coding RNA, metabolites, and drugs through networks. The software enables the simulation and analysis of different scenarios to identify molecular biomarkers and to use active drugs in different contexts for specific cancer forms.
