The CNR communication and press officers are organised in a network that includes the Press Office Unit and the Communication Unit, supported by designated officers at Department and Institute level.
Main structure and functions
Working Group “CNR Communication and Press Officers”: a permanent group coordinated by the heads of the central units to manage communication activities throughout the country.
Press Office Unit: responsible for media relations and the dissemination of news.
Communication Unit: manages multimedia and web communication, visual identity, outreach activities and institutional communication, in close collaboration with the Press Office.
Tasks of the Working Group
- Territorial reference point for scientific and institutional communication
- Support for the organisation of events, outreach initiatives and public engagement activities
- Support for the Institute’s communication campaigns (e.g. CNR Centenary, 5×1000 campaign)
- Interaction with the scientific network for the development of events and outreach proposals
- Monitoring of local opportunities and initiatives of potential interest
- Support for the recruitment of science communicators and facilitators
- Identification of research results and news of potential media interest
- Collaboration with the Press Office Unit for press releases, news and video content
- Contributions to the CNR web magazine *Almanacco della Scienza*
- Support for media relations and institutional social media communication
- Collaboration with CNR WebTV for audiovisual productions
