Massimo Guarascio is a Senior Researcher at the Institute for High Performance Computing and Networking of the National Research Council of Italy (ICAR-CNR). His research focuses on Behavior Analytics and the development of novel Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning methods to detect, explain, and predict anomalous behaviors in complex systems.

His main research areas include cybersecurity and fraud detection, process mining, sensor data analysis, and applications in geosciences and remote sensing. He also works on recommender systems and multimodal content analysis. Cross-cutting topics include deep learning, data stream analytics, interpretable models, and the robustness of artificial intelligence systems.

He has participated in European and national projects, including Horizon PERUN, H2020 CyberSec4Europe, PRIN iSafety, and the PNRR-funded SECCO and COVERT projects within the SERICS Foundation, as well as several national PON and POR initiatives. In several of these projects, he has held scientific coordination responsibilities. He has co-authored more than 110 Scopus-indexed scientific publications.

He has obtained the Italian National Scientific Qualification as a full professor in disciplinary sector 09/H1 – Information Processing Systems.
