FUTURO REMOTO 2024 · NAPOLI

From October 18th to 20th, 2024, the Institute for High-Performance Computing and Networking (ICAR) of the CNR will participate in Futuro Remoto at Città della Scienza in Naples with two engaging and innovative events:

  1. JAMME I.A., LEARN BY TALKING WITH ROBOTS AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCES
(Umberto ManiscalcoAniello MinutoloAntonio MessinaPietro Storniolo Massimo EspositoSalvatore Palange)
Discover the world of conversational artificial intelligence! Researchers from ICAR-CNR will showcase robots and virtual assistants capable of interacting in natural language. You will have the opportunity to engage with AIs that respond transparently and traceably, providing answers on topics related to Italian cultural heritage. A unique chance to experience human-machine interaction, enhanced by multimodal methods that make communication more natural and immersive.
  1. CREO-SCIENZE: IN-COSCIENZA
(Laura AntonelliNadia BrancatiClaudia Di NapoliLucia MaddalenaGiovanni ParagliolaDiego Romano)
With a creative and scientific approach, “CREO-SCIENZE,” organized by the CREO-CNR network, explores the concept of consciousness and science through a series of labs focused on artificial intelligence, robotics, and technological innovation. This is an opportunity to participate in experiments and demonstrations that explore the limits and possibilities of science, with a focus on the role of machines and emerging technologies in understanding consciousness.
    Demonstrative Laboratory ICAR: InCoscienza
The amount of data created in daily activities, consumed, and stored worldwide is constantly growing. Today, models and algorithms allow us to process and analyze this data, which is heterogeneous and large-scale, producing and revealing information that helps us understand extremely complex phenomena. But how much of this knowledge is (IN)CONSCIOUS? In other words, how transparent, accessible, sustainable, and fair is the information produced? Through presentations, games, and interactive activities, we will explore with experts the potential and limitations of algorithms, including Artificial Intelligence, and their impact on health, the economy, transportation, cultural heritage, security, and society.

All events will be open to the public and are designed for people of all ages, offering an interactive and educational experience on the future of artificial intelligence and the role of science in society. Don’t miss the chance to immerse yourself in these fascinating experiences!
