Topics: The initial research dealt with parallel computing algorithms, methodologies, and techniques, and their application to computer graphics. Subsequent research has been mainly devoted to methods, algorithms, and software for image processing and multimedia systems in high-performance computational environments, with application to digital film restoration, video surveillance, and biomedical imaging. She is currently investigating the design of models, algorithms, and software tools to discover, understand, and model scientific phenomena through the analysis of experimental data and/or through the simulation of their generation processes.
