The Digital Driven Diagnostics, prognostics, and therapeutics for sustainable Health care (D3 4 HEALTH) initiative aims to develop digital and biological twins through a data mining approach.
The overall objective of the D3 4 HEALTH project is to provide highly technological solutions that will impact the management of reference diseases, such as: metastatic colon cancer, liver and biliary tract cancer, central nervous system cancer, type 1 diabetes and multiple sclerosis. D3 4 HEALTH will fundamentally transform and advance current methodologies of diagnosis, monitoring and therapy of the reference disease, facilitating the application of precision medicine approaches through the development of digital and biological twins, for the benefit of citizens and patients. D3 4 HEALTH will scale up and implement innovative and non-invasive technologies and solutions, based on the analysis of digital and digitized health data.
The activities of ICAR CNR will focus on task 3.2 (Artificial intelligence, mathematical and statistical methods for twins), which involves the creation of systems, through the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques, for non-invasive glucose monitoring and the prediction of hypoglycemic and hyperglycemic events starting from the ECG signal acquired with wearable sensors. Instead, with regard to multiple sclerosis disease, the idea is to predict its progression over future time horizons using AI techniques to optimize patient management and monitoring.
