Daniel Riccio was born in Cambridge, U.K., in 1978. He received the Laurea degree (cum laude) and the Ph.D. degree in computer science from the University of Salerno, Salerno, Italy, in 2002 and 2006, respectively. He is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Naples, Federico II. He is an associate researcher at the Istituto di Calcolo e Reti ad Alte Prestazioni (ICAR – CNR).

His research interests include biometrics, medical imaging, machine learning and pattern classification, image and video analytics. Daniel Riccio is an IEEE member since 2012. He is also a member of the Italian Group of Italian Researcher in Pattern Recognition (GIRPR) since 2004.
