Carmelo Militello is a Research Scientist at the National Research Council of Italy (CNR). He received his Laurea cum Laude and Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the University of Palermo, Italy. His research activity is also conducted in collaboration with the Department of Biomedicine, Neuroscience and Advanced Diagnostic (BiND), University of Palermo, Italy, the Department of Engineering and Architecture, the University ‘Kore’ of Enna, Italy, the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom, the Hospital Fondation ‘G.Giglio’ of Cefalù, Italy, and the Department of Information and Electrical Engineering and Applied Mathematics (DIEM), University of Salerno. He is on the editorial board of several international Computer Science journals. His main research fields are Digital Image Processing, Biometrics, Medical Images Analysis and Quantification, Radiomics, Applied Machine Learning, Explainable Predictive Models, and Artificial Intelligence. He has served as a coordinator and been responsible for activities in various national and international research projects. Moreover, he is a co-author of over 75 publications in international journals, book chapters, and conference proceedings.
