CIRO: Campania Infrastructure For Imaging In Oncological Research

About

CIRO project aims to create a research infrastructure (RI) in the field of production and analysis of biological and medical images, which is today crucial for the success of cutting-edge oncology research and for the growth of the system social and economic connected to it. The CIRO IR for Biomedical Imaging will offer technological services capable of responding in the oncology field to a wide spectrum of research and development activities, from basic biological imaging to the medical image of humans and populations, with the ambition to constitute a point of reference not only regionally but at a European and global level.

Priority Technological Trajectories

The objective is to strengthen the national research system through the pursuit of a strategy strongly focused on competitiveness and integration aimed at supporting growth, employment and well-being. Through the valorisation and strengthening of the scientific excellence of the national research system, we want overcome fragmentation and eliminate useless, inefficient and uneconomic duplications of technological specializations.

  • New diagnostic and molecular imaging technologies and development of microscopic analysis techniques for high-speed images with high information density
  • Development of innovative non-invasive approaches for pre-clinical diagnosis
  • Development of bio-markers, with innovative technologies and connected clinical applications also through the development of biobanks
