PON Sigma. Integrated sensor system in a cloud environment for advanced multi-risk management.
START DATE: May 1, 2013 END DATE: May 31, 2015
The PON SIGMA project (Integrated Sensor System in a Cloud Environment for Advanced Multi-Risk Management) focuses on an integrated sensor system for multi-risk management. The heterogeneous information acquired through multiple sensor networks is processed and elaborated with the aim of providing data useful for the prevention and management of risk situations. The system is also designed to enable its use in various areas and situations.
The Palermo office of ICAR took part in the following activities:
OR3: Study and design of a Cloud-based platform for collecting and processing data from dense sensor networks. The following activities were carried out:
-
Activity involving the detection of potential risk situations in inhabited areas due to exceptional natural events. The topic was addressed by using a representation of the sensor network in the form of a graph and evaluating the specific situations that can identify risk conditions.
-
Activity involving the presentation of data on mobile terminals, useful for field work conditions and featuring a concise interface that allows the conveyance of information relevant to the given situation.
-
Activity involving the generation of workflows in multi-risk emergency situations. Starting from the workflows of field operators managing emergency situations, the composition of workflows is performed in relation to the emergencies that are currently active.
OR7: Development of demonstrators and field experimentation
-
Development of a demonstrator for the analysis of data coming from rain gauges distributed over a territory and the identification of risk situations.
-
Development of a demonstrator for the presentation of information distributed across geographical areas and visualized through a web application capable of managing different visualization levels.
-
Development of a demonstrator for the generation of adaptive workflows in risk situations.
