SPIDASEC POR Innovation Calabria Region
START DATE: January 1, 2018
END DATE: December 31, 2019
The SPIDASEC project falls within the SPID ecosystem and aims to contribute to the improvement of the overall security of SPID and the ‘Trust’ between the parties, essentially enabling:
-
A wider adoption of the SPID model by a broad range of service providers who will be better supported in their needs to maintain and improve the security level achieved by current Identification and Authentication schemes;
-
Greater protection for end-users against fraud and abuse related to their digital identity;
-
The enablement of mass use of the SPID service, and the extension of its scope to contexts where digital identity is only one of the factors involved in effectively overcoming process automation barriers, thus contributing to simplifying, more generally, the interaction between the user and the “system”;
-
The integration of technological models and systems for security, certification, and trust that will facilitate and support the spread of new digital service offerings, while simultaneously strengthening the diffusion of digital identity;
-
Full adherence to the regulatory framework concerning Privacy, ensuring that the proposed solutions are always consistent with their intended purpose and do not allow improper use of acquired data.
Furthermore, the project is part of a reference scenario that, in the coming years, will see the constant development and use of new enabling technologies for the identification and authentication phase, aimed both at simplifying the use of tools for the end-user (typically the citizen) and at ensuring greater security for the entire ecosystem of services provided to the citizen.
The project involves the participation of the University of Calabria, which will be the experimentation subject for the provision of university services to students/faculty using SPID; Poste Italiane, which will intervene both as a digital identity provider (identity provider) and as an experimentation subject for security solutions, monitoring, and verification of the compliance of internet-exposed systems that deliver services using SPID-based digital identity; and ICAR-CNR, which will use its Data Analytics solutions to guarantee user security and prevent and detect threats to privacy and digital identity.
