XVIII WORKSHOP ICAR

The 18th edition of the ICAR Workshop was organized by the Naples branch and held from November 14 to 16, 2022, at the Hotel Royal Continental in Naples. The workshop marked an important milestone for ICAR, featuring sessions on the institute’s history, its role in the CNR’s relaunch plan, and the progress of its activities.

The scientific program included an international workshop on “Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Computing: Challenges and Opportunities,” with distinguished speakers such as Prof. Bob Coecke (University of Oxford), Prof. Steve Furber (University of Manchester), and Prof. Dimitris Fotiadis (University of Ioannina). Industry leaders like IBM, Engineering, and WEB Genesys presented their perspectives on AI and quantum computing applications, while discussions on PNRR initiatives were led by CNR directors Marco Conti and Francesco Cataliotti.

The event concluded with reflections on ICAR’s contributions to the CNR’s relaunch plan and proposals from its personnel.
