This edition was held from October 15 to 17 in Palermo, focusing on the main theme, “Ideas and Programs for ICAR’s Second Five-Year Plan.”

A session was dedicated to each research group, during which ideas and programs for future activities were presented, with particular attention to the new regional (POR 2007-2013), national (PON 2007-2013), and European (7th Framework Programme) research calls. Another session addressed potential open-topic research initiatives and participation in PRIN calls.

The program also included a roundtable discussion on the topic, “Ideas and Collaboration Programs Among Projects, Institutes, and Research Groups of the ICT Department of CNR.” Participants included project leaders and members of the Scientific Council of the ICT Department of CNR. During the roundtable, discussions centered on possible collaboration strategies among projects, institutes, and research groups within the ICT Department, based on experiences from the first year of project implementation and considering the upcoming reform of the CNR.

To conclude the event, a discussion was held on the prospects and development strategies for ICAR, drawing on experiences from its first five years of activity and in light of the forthcoming CNR reform.
