From November 22 to December 15, 2024, the exhibition Obiettivo Scienza was held at the evocative Ex Cartiera Latina in Rome, an event organized in collaboration with Roma Fotografia and Rome’s First Municipality. The exhibition celebrated photography as a storytelling tool for scientific research.
The exhibition featured 60 photographs, selected by a Scientific and Organizing Committee of the CNR, from over 500 submissions received as part of a contest launched in celebration of the Centennial of the National Research Council (CNR). These photographs were displayed on large-format panels, with some accompanied by a QR code that provided access to a video contribution in which the author described their shot and the scientific context behind it.
Among the exhibited works, two photographs showcased the research conducted in the field of artificial intelligence by the ICAR Institute of the CNR.
The selected photographs will be part of a traveling exhibition. The next stop will be Bologna, from January 16 to March 2, 2025, at the Civic Archaeological Museum (Via dell’Archiginnasio 2, Bologna).
