ICAR contributed to the organization of the contest “Science as a Tool for Equality – 2024,” organized by the CNR Institutes of the Palermo Territorial Research Area, Fondazione Ri.MED, and the INAF and INGV Institutes of Palermo.

The goal of the contest was to promote gender equality and raise awareness among young people about equity, diversity, and inclusion, fostering their skills, creativity, and ability to challenge stereotypes. Students were encouraged to present innovative projects demonstrating how science can be used as a tool to overcome social, cultural, and economic barriers and as a vehicle for a more inclusive future.

On October 21, 2024, the award ceremony for the selected projects took place.
