ARCHAEOGAME AT MUSEUM SALINAS

The research project funded by the Department of Cultural Heritage and Sicilian Identity of the Sicily Region responds to the needs of an enhancement of museum education through the tools of digital education.

At the Regional Archaeological Museum A. Salinas in Palermo an application has been experimented on a mobile terminal that integrates the technique of storytelling with indoor localization technologies in the context of didactic paths of knowledge and contextualization of museum finds, through gamification.

Contributed to the realization of the Archeogames Project:
– Palermo Regional Park for archaeological parks and museums. “Antonino Salinas” Regional Archaeological Museum – Palermo;
– “Incontrosenso” Cultural Association – Palermo;
– Institute of High Performance Computing and Networking of the National Research Council (ICAR – CNR) – Laboratory of Cognitive Robotics and Social Sensing, based in Palermo.
The Institutes Lyceum Coreutico Regina Margherita, and the Comprehensive Institutes Politeama and G. Marconi participated in the experimentation. Palermo

ICAR participated free of charge, as part of the CNR’s third mission “to favor the direct application, exploitation and use of knowledge to contribute to the social, cultural and economic development of society”.
