ICAR uses this cluster to perform complex data processing algorithms. One of the fields of research that makes use of the computing power offered by the cluster is deep learning (neural networks). In particular, ICAR uses TensorFlow, an open-source software library for artificial intelligence.

The technical characteristics of this CUDA Cluster are:

  • 8 nodes with Intel (R) Xeon (R) E5520 @ 2.27GHz 16 core and 24GB of RAM, for a total aggregate of 128 cores and 192GB of RAM;
  • 8 units NVidia Tesla T10 S1070-400 GPU with 8GB of RAM and 480 cores @;
  • 1.3GHz, for a total aggregate of 3840 cores and 64GB of RAM;
  • 2 1.3TB Raid5 storage units, for a total of 2.6TB;
  • 1 storage unit of 6TB Raid5;
  • S.O. 64-bit Linux;
  • CUDA 6.5.
